Tucker Wins It With Walk Off Single

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots took their second straight game over the Sugar Land Skeeters with a 4-3 walk off win at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday afternoon.

In the ninth inning, after Yusuf Carter drew a walk, Dan DeGeorge moved him over on a sacrifice bunt, and he scored on a walk off RBI single down the right field line by Jonny Tucker for the 4-3 final.

The Patriots rallied to tie up the game in the bottom of the eighth inning on an RBI single by Lou Santangelo to make it a 3-3 game.

Former Patriot Josh Pressley drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth inning for a 3-2 lead.

Sugar Land took an early 2-0 lead on an RBI single by Jason Botts in the first inning and an RBI double by Victor Gutierrez in the second inning.

Somerset cut into the lead in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double by DeGeorge that made the score 2-1.

The Patriots tied up the game in the sixth on an RBI single by Jeff Nettles that tied him for the Atlantic League all-time career lead with his 933 hit.

T.J. Hose (1-0) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched.  Michael Nicks (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing a run in 0.2 innings pitched.
