May 9th Game Notes; Skeeters @ Patriots

Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight at 7:05 pm from TD Bank Ballpark, the Somerset Patriots (7-5) host the Sugar Land Skeeters (4-8) in the third game of this four game midweek series featuring these Freedom Division foes.

The Patriots won the series opener Monday night 8-4. Catcher Yusuf Carter had a season-high five RBI and starting pitcher Mike MacDonald earned his first win of 2012. Yesterday afternoon the Patriots won 4-3. It was the fifth time this season they won in come from behind fashion. First baseman Lou Santangelo tied the game in the eighth inning with an RBI single. Center fielder Jonny Tucker hit the game winning walk-off RBI single down the right field line in the ninth inning. Here’s the audio clip from Tucker’s dramatic hit. The Patriots are in sole possession of first place in the Freedom Division.

The Patriots and the Skeeters and heading in opposite directions. The Patriots have won six of their last seven games. The Skeeters have lost seven of their last eight games.
