Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (14-13) host the Camden Riversharks (12-15) at 7:05pm from TD Bank Ballpark. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a mini baseball bat. The Patriots and Riversharks have split the first four games of this extended six game series. Here’s a brief synopsis of each game thus far…

Roy Merritt makes his sixth start of the season tonight as he is fourth in the AL in ERA (2.17)

Tuesday May 22nd: Patriots won 8-0 scoring all eight runs in the sixth inning. Paul Phillips earned his Atlantic League leading fourth win.

Wednesday May 23rd: Riversharks erased a 3-0 deficit to win 5-4. Third baseman Marquez Smith had the go ahead two RBI single in the seventh inning.

Thursday May 24th: Riversharks overcame a 3-0 deficit in the eighth inning to win 4-3. Center fielder Drew Macias hit the decisive home run in the ninth inning.

Friday May 25th: Patriots won 4-0 as Justin Cassel earned his first win of the 2012 season as he struck out a season-high nine batters. Here’s the audio clip of Cassel’s seventh strikeout and here’s the audio clip of standout closer Josh Rupe recording the final out.
