Lancaster, PA – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (15-15) visit the Lancaster Barnstormers (16-15) at 7:00pm from Clipper Magazine Stadium in the second game of this pivotal four game midweek series. The Patriots lost 1-0 in 10 innings Monday night as Barnstormers shortstop Jaime Pedroza smacked a walk-off home run to deep right center field. Last night’s game was postponed due to rain.

Tough Scheduling…

The Patriots will be playing five games in the span on 48 hours later this week in two different states. On Thursday the Patriots play a doubleheader with the Barnstormers beginning at 5:00pm. Each contest will be seven innings. The following day the Patriots will play a day night doubleheader with the Riversharks at 11:00am and 7:00pm respectively. Then on Saturday those two squads square off at 1:00pm. The Patriots are already in the midst of their longest road trip of the first half.

Tight Race…

Lancaster is currently ½ game ahead in the Freedom Division over Somerset and just one game ahead of Sugar Land. It’s definitely a three horse race as all three teams are bunched up. Meanwhile York is just 2.5 games back overall and two games behind in the loss column.

Road Woes…

The Patriots have lost eight of their last nine games away from home.
