Patriots Win It In Ninth 3-2

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the York Revolution 3-2 before 7,390 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.

With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning, Jesse Hoorelbeke hit a game-winning single to plate Freddie Bynum, who singled earlier in the inning, for the 3-2 win.

Two solo home runs in the second inning by Hoorelbeke (10) and Yusuf Carter (5) put the Patriots up 2-0.

The Revolution tied up the game with two runs in the third on a two-run single by Chris Nowak.

Chase Wright (2-0) earned the win for Somerset, allowing a hit over 1.2 innings of relief. Adam Thomas (2-2) suffered the loss for the Revolution.

The 7,390 in attendance helped the Somerset Patriots set a new Atlantic League weekend attendance record with 22,200 fans, topping their previous league record of 22,175 set in 2005.

The 2012 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Monday, June 25th when they return to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks.
