Patriots Win 3-2 On Walk Off Double In 13th

Bridgewater, NJ- Freddie Bynum’s RBI double in the bottom of the 13th inning led the Somerset Patriots to a 3-2 win over the Long Island Ducks at TD Bank Ballpark on Monday night.

Jonny Tucker was hit by a pitch in the 13th inning and came around to score from first on Bynum’s game-winning hit.

Long Island jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning after Reid Gorecki singled and scored on an RBI base hit by Ray Navarette for the 1-0 advantage.

The Patriots rallied to take the lead in the bottom half of the third after Tucker drove a two run single to left field to make the score 2-1.

The Ducks evened the score at two on a solo homerun by James McOwen (4) in the top of the fourth inning.

Josh Rupe (2-4) picked up the win after pitching four scoreless innings. Jason Monti (5-3) suffered the loss for the Ducks.
