Patriots Shutout Skeeters 3-0

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters 3-0 at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening in the second game of a day-night doubleheader.

The Patriots broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the seventh inning.  Jeff Nettles led off the inning with a single and came around to score on a two run homerun by Jake Fox (5).  Dan DeGeorge then singled and Rian Kiniry followed with an RBI double to give Somerset a 3-0 lead.

Patriots starter Sean Green (3-1) got the win after tossing a complete game shutout, allowing only two hits and striking out seven.  Skeeters starter Heath Phillips (1-6) suffered the loss, allowing three runs on six hits in 6.2 innings pitched.  

The 2012 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue at home on Wednesday night when the Patriots take on the Sugar Land Skeeters at 7:05 pm.  The game features a Post-Game 3D Fireworks Show with 3D Glasses (1st 3,500 fans) presented by Investors Bank.  For tickets, call  (908) 252-0700 or visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
