Jonny Tucker Signed By Washington Nationals

Bridgewater, NJ – The Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced that outfielder Jonny Tucker has been signed by the Washington Nationals organization and will report to Double-A in Harrisburg.

Tucker had 76 hits, 11 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 29 RBI, and 16 stolen bases in 82 games played this season.

Before joining the Patriots, Tucker had experience in the Baltimore Orioles and Nationals organizations, including two seasons at the Triple-A level.

Tucker played 75 games in Double-A last season for Harrisburg and had 50 hits and 23 RBI. He has a career .260 average, 399 runs, 645 hits, 127 doubles, 23 triples, 18 home runs, and 238 RBI in 716 games played.

Tucker is the third Patriots player to be signed by a Major League organization this season, joining Mike MacDonald (Boston Red Sox) and Mike Solbach (Colorado Rockies).

In other team news, the Patriots have placed pitcher Travis Bowyer on the inactive list.
