Sugar Land, TX – The Sugar Land Skeeters (11-9, 40-50) beat the Somerset Patriots (9-11, 44-46) 5-4 Wednesday night from Constellation Field. The Skeeters erased a 3-0 deficit to top the Patriots in the third game of this four game midweek series.
The Patriots added another run in the top of the fourth frame as right fielder Rian Kiniry blooped a RBI single into right center field to put the Patriots on top 3-0.
The Skeeters scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning as shortstop Amadeo Zuzueta laced a RBI single.
In the home half of the sixth inning the Skeeters scratched across another run as right fielder Steven Moss smacked a RBI single making the score 3-2.
In the bottom of the seventh inning the Skeeters catapulted in front as they took a 5-3 lead. Center fielder Bubba Bell notched a RBI single and first baseman Josh Pressley socked a two RBI double.
The Patriots scratched across a run in the top of the eighth inning as reliever Roberto Giron threw a wild pitch to score Dan DeGeorge from third base making the score 5-4 but the Skeeters still led.
Jeff Farnsworth pitched three scoreless innings of relief to earn his first win of the season. Taylor Sinclair faced three batters and allowed all of them to reach base as he suffered his first loss of the year. Closer Gary Majewski notched his 15th save of the 2012 campaign.
The 2012 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Tuesday August 7th when they return home to take on the Camden Riversharks.
