Fox will report to the Phillies’ Triple-A team in Lehigh Valley.
During his short time in Somerset, Fox hit .388 with 31 hits, six doubles, a triple, seven home runs, and 20 RBI in 21 games.
The day before signing with the Phillies, Fox went 4 for 5 with two home runs and four RBI in a win against the Sugar Land Skeeters.
Fox spent parts of the 2011 season at the Major League and Triple-A level with the Baltimore Orioles. He had 15 hits, four doubles, a triple, two homeruns, and six RBI in 27 games during his time with Baltimore. While at Triple-A, he batted .275, with 73 hits, 19 doubles, 12 homeruns, and 58 RBI in 68 games.
In 2010 he split time in the Major Leagues with both the Oakland Athletics and the Orioles. While with both clubs he combined for 43 hits, 10 doubles, seven homeruns, and 32 homeruns in 77 games.
In addition to his time with the Orioles and Athletics, he also has Major League experience with the Chicago Cubs in 2007 and 2009.
During his career, Fox has spent parts of four seasons at the Major League level, where he has accumulated 116 hits, 28 doubles, two triples, 20 homeruns, and 73 RBI in 193 career games.
Fox appeared in 42 games at the Triple-A level to start the 2012 season with the Pittsburg Pirates organization. He had 29 hits, 10 doubles, 16 RBI, and 15 runs scored in 123 at bats.
He has a Minor League career batting average of .289 with 793 hits, 196 doubles, 11 triples, and 136 RBI in 750 games.
Fox is the fourth Patriots player to be signed by a Major League organization this season, joining Mike MacDonald (Boston Red Sox), Mike Solbach (Colorado Rockies), and Jonny Tucker (Washington Nationals)..
