August 17th Game Notes; Patriots @ Bluefish

Bridgeport, CT – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (17-18, 52-53) visit the Bridgeport Bluefish (17-15, 48-54) at 7:05 p.m. from Harbor Yard in the second game of this four game weekend series. The Patriots won in dramatic fashion last night 4-2 as they plated one run in the eighth inning and two runs in the ninth frame. Below are the highlights of the contest courtesy of WCTC.

Sanchez Sizzling

Shortstop Yunesky Sanchez hit just .212 in the first half of the season but in the second half he has turned his season around. Since the All-Star break he’s hitting .304 with three home runs and 14 RBI. He had 11 RBI the entire first half.

Four Is The Magic Number

In the second half of the season when the Patriots score four runs or more they are 14-4. When they score three runs or fewer they are 3-14.

Catalyst

The Patriots are 8-2 when Freddie Bynum bats leadoff. The All-Star ignites the team and provides a spark.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Lefty Doug Arguello toes the rubber for Somerset while the Bluefish have yet to determine a starter.
