Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight at 7:05 p.m. the Somerset Patriots (3-1) host the Sugar Land Skeeters (4-0) in the first game of a three game midweek series at TD Bank Ballpark featuring these Freedom Division foes. Be sure to download today’s comprehensive game notes. The Patriots won their opening series against the Blue Crabs while the Skeeters swept the reigning Atlantic League Champion Long Island Ducks at Constellation Field.
Best Start In 12 Years: The Patriots are above .500 for the first time after four games to start a season since the 2001 campaign when they began that year an impressive 6-0.
Patriots’ shortstop Yunesky Sanchez became the first player in franchise history to homer in four consecutive games. This past weekend Sanchez crushed his former team by smacking four homers and driving in 10 runs while hitting .412. Sanchez hit seven home runs all of last season.

Starting Pitching Matchup
Righty Josh Lowey toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Matt Wright will take the hill for the Skeeters.
Josh Lowey is the twin brother of Jason Lowey who is a relief pitcher on Somerset. Josh played for the Wichita Wingnuts in the American Association last year and was an impressive 15-4 with a solid 3.57 ERA. In five minor league seasons his career ERA is 3.28.
Matt Wright was a 21st round draft pick by the Atlantic Braves in 2005 out of high school. He has Atlantic League experience as he suited up for the Barnstormers in 2011 and the Skeeters last year. He was 2-0 with a 2.20 ERA in eight starts last year with Sugar Land before being signed by the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He’s peaked at the AAA level.
Patriots’ outfielder Joe Holden has provided a spark at the bottom of the order. He’s 5-for-7 this year with three stolen bases, three walks and a RBI. His elusive speed gives him the ability to reach base via infield singles. Holden has also demonstrated great athletic ability patrolling the real-estate in the outfield as he has already made a handful of spectacular catches.
Jonny Be Good
Patriots’ outfielder Jonny Tucker is the catalyst at the top of the lineup. He has at least one RBI in each of the first four games and has six on the season.
