Three Patriot players saw individual streaks come to an end in last night’s loss. Yunesky Sanchez ended his streak of homering in four consecutive games. Mike Wilson snapped his modest four game hitting streak. Jonny Tucker snapped his four game streak of tallying at least one RBI.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty Erik Arnesen (1-0, 1.50 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow southpaw Jason Lane (1-0, 0.00 ERA) will take the hill for the Skeeters.

Erik Arnesen is a local product as he resides in Princeton, New Jersey with his wife and two kids. He was masterful Opening Night as he hurled six innings while striking out nine and walking none in a win against Southern Maryland. His favorite player of all-time is Roger Clemens.

Jason Lane is a rare two way player in that he can hit and pitch. He’s 35 years old and was selected by the Astros in the 6th round of the 1999 MLB Draft. He won a College World Series title in Omaha, Nebraska with USC in 1998. He played in the 2005 Major League World Series with the Houston Astros.

Holden Hot

Patriots’ outfielder Joe Holden has provided a spark at the bottom of the order. He’s 7-for-10 this year with three stolen bases, four walks and a RBI. His elusive speed gives him the ability to reach base via infield singles. Holden has also demonstrated great athletic ability patrolling the real-estate in the outfield as he has already made a handful of spectacular catches.

OBP Machine

Patriots’ second baseman James Skelton is 0-for-9 thus far but he has drawn a team high seven walks.
