Skeeters Remain Perfect With 7-2 Win Over Patriots

lowey throwingBridgewater, NJ- The Sugar Land Skeeters defeated the Somerset Patriots 7-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening.

Sugar Land jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Koby Clemens.

Sloppy defense by the Patriots in the top of the third helped the Skeeters plate four runs.  Chase Lambin (2) capped off the inning by driving a three run homerun over the right field wall to make the score 5-0.

Somerset got on the board in the bottom half of the third after Joe Holden scored on a wild pitch.

An RBI base hit by Jake Fox brought home James Skelton in the seventh to plate Somerset’s second run and make the score 6-2.

An error by Jonny Tucker allowed another run to come around and score in the ninth for the Skeeters for the 7-2 final.

Sugar Land starter Matt Wright (2-0) got the win after allowing a run on three hits in five innings of work.  Josh Lowey (0-1) suffered the loss after allowing four earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched.
