Bridgewater, NJ – Today at 1:05 p.m. the Somerset Patriots (11-4) host the Bridgeport Bluefish (8-7) in the final game of a three game weekend series from TD Bank Ballpark. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. The Patriots look to sweep the Bluefish after clinching the series last night in come from behind fashion with a 6-5 victory. It was Somerset’s sixth come from behind win already on the young season. The Patriots have won eight of their last nine games overall.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty Erik Arnesen (1-1, 3.31 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Mike Parisi (1-0, 1.20 ERA) will take the hill for the Bluefish.

The Sugar Land Skeeters (13-2) currently lead the Freedom Division by two games over the Patriots.

Jake Can Rake

Jake Fox leads the Atlantic League with six home runs. Fox has as many homers as the entire Bridgeport team combined.

Pounding The Zone

The Patriots pitching staff has accumulated 109 strikeouts thus far compared to just 34 walks. That’s good for an impressive 3 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio.

Showcasing Speed

Somerset leads the Atlantic League in stolen bases with 26. That’s five more than the next closest opponent. First year skipper Brett Jodie has been very aggressive thus far on the young season.

Straw That Stirs Drink

Jonny Tucker is the catalyst to the lineup. He has 11 RBI through 15 games. He’s tied for fifth in the league in RBI. He works the count well and sets the table for his teammates that follow him in the order. He’s tied for fourth in the league in walks (9).
