Bridgeport, CT – Today the Somerset Patriots (21-10) visit the Bridgeport Bluefish (13-20) at Harbor Yard for a doubleheader. Game one will be at 12:05 p.m. and the second game will start 30 minutes after the first contest. Each game will be seven innings. Download today’s comprehensive game notes.

Starting Pitching Matchup Game One

Righty Brad Thompson (2-1, 3.09 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Josh Butler (2-1, 2.52 ERA) will take the hill for the Bluefish. Thompson has the sixth best ERA in the Atlantic League while Butler has the third best ERA in the Atlantic League.

Starting Pitching Matchup Game Two

Righty Paul Phillips (1-1, 5.11 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Michael Colla (2-2, 3.89 ERA) will take the hill for the Bluefish.

Freedom Division Update

The Sugar Land Skeeters (29-6) currently lead the Freedom Division by 6.0 games over the Patriots. Somerset has played four fewer games than Sugar Land.

Jake Can Rake

Jake Fox leads the Atlantic League with 10 home runs.

E-Mart Swag

Eddy Martinez-Esteve leads the Atlantic League in batting average hitting at a tremendous .372 clip. He has a comfortable 16 point lead over the next best hitter in the league which is Steve Moss of Sugar Land. Martinez-Esteve has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games and has eight multi-hit games over his last 11 contests.

Better Than Average

The Patriots have four players in the top 15 in the Atlantic League in batting average: Martinez-Esteve (1st .372), Smith (T-6th, .328), Fox (T-12th, .313), Montanez (14th, .311).

RISP-ect

Luis Montanez is 4th in the AL in RBI (26). Corey Smith and Jake Fox are tied for 5th in the AL in RBI (23).

Fantastic Four

The Patriots are 18-5 when they score four or more runs. The Patriots are 3-5 when they score 3 or fewer runs.
