Bridgeport, CT – Today the Somerset Patriots (23-10) visit the Bridgeport Bluefish (13-22) at Harbor Yard for a special Monday Memorial Day matinee affair beginning at 1:05 p.m. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. The Patriots swept a doubleheader yesterday outscoring the Bluefish by a combined total of 17-7. The Patriots are 5-0 against Bridgeport thus far on the season. The Bluefish are struggling having lost a season-high eight games in a row.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty David Harden (4-0, 4.57 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while southpaw Hunter Jones (1-2, 6.38 ERA) will take the hill for the Bluefish.

Freedom Division Update

The Sugar Land Skeeters (29-7) currently lead the Freedom Division by 4.5 games over the Patriots. Somerset has played three fewer games than Sugar Land.

Jake Can Rake

Jake Fox leads the Atlantic League with 10 home runs. The Bluefish as a team have only smacked 13 long balls.

Getting Smitty With It

After tallying zero homers through his first 23 games, Corey Smith now has five home runs over his last 10 games.

E-Mart Swag

Eddy Martinez-Esteve leads the Atlantic League in batting average hitting at a tremendous .387 clip. He has a comfortable 26 point lead over the next best hitter in the league which is Steve Moss of Sugar Land. Martinez-Esteve has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games and has nine multi-hit games over his last 13 contests.

Better Than Average

The Patriots have four players in the top 15 in the Atlantic League in batting average: Martinez-Esteve (1st .387), Smith (5th, .323), Montanez (10th, .316), Fox (13th, .314)

RISP-ect

Luis Montanez is 4th in the AL in RBI (27). Corey Smith and Jake Fox are tied for 5th in the AL in RBI (25).

Fantastic Four

The Patriots are 20-5 when they score four or more runs. The Patriots are 3-5 when they score 3 or fewer runs.
