Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (24-10) host the Lancaster Barnstormers (18-19) at TD Bank Ballpark for a doubleheader. Game one will be at 4:35 p.m. and game two will begin 30 minutes after game one. Each contest will only be seven innings. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. Yesterday was the Patriots’ fourth rainout in the last nine days. There will be fireworks after the second game for all fans to enjoy.

Starting Pitching Matchup Game One

Righty Mitch Atkins (3-1, 3.96 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Brian Grening (1-2, 2.36 ERA) will take the hill for the Barnstormers.

Starting Pitching Matchup Game Two

Lefty Graham Taylor (2-1, 6.61 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow southpaw Lenny DiNardo (3-3, 4.17 ERA) will take the hill for the Barnstormers.

Freedom Division Update

The Sugar Land Skeeters (30-8) currently lead the Freedom Division by 4.0 games over the Patriots. Somerset has played four fewer games than Sugar Land.

Eddy Martinez-Esteve leads the Atlantic League in batting average hitting at a tremendous .384 clip. He has a comfortable 31 point lead over the next best hitter in the league which is Steve Moss of Sugar Land. Martinez-Esteve has hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games and has 10 multi-hit games over his last 14 contests.

The Patriots have four players in the top 15 in the Atlantic League in batting average: Martinez-Esteve (1st .384), Montanez (T-4th, .331), Smith (T-6th, .328), Fox (11th, .315)

Luis Montanez and Jake Fox are tied for 2nd in the AL in RBI (31). Corey Smith has the 6th most RBI in the AL (26).
