628 baisley swingingBridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Long Island Ducks 4-2 before 6,996 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

The Patriots struck first in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by Dan Hennigan.

Somerset added two more runs the following inning on a sacrifice fly by Jeff Baisley and an RBI double by Cory Aldridge to make the score 3-0.

The Ducks scored to cut the lead to one in the fourth after Adam Bailey (9) drove a two run homerun over the outfield wall to make the score 3-2.

The Patriots answered right back in the bottom half of the frame on an RBI double by Jake Fox for the 4-2 advantage.

Patriots starter David Harden (9-2) picked up the win after allowing two runs in 5.2 innings of work.  Bill Murphy (0-9) suffered the loss for Long Island, surrendering four runs on eight hits in five innings pitched.  Jon Hunton came on to toss a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his 19th save of the season.

The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Saturday evening when the Patriots take on the Long Island Ducks at 7:05 pm.
