75emartBridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Camden Riversharks 5-2 before 6,995 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.

Somerset scored to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first after Eddy Martinez-Esteve was hit by a pitch to force home a run.

Camden evened the score at one in the second on an RBI base hit by Billy Rice.

Cory Aldridge (4) drove a two run homerun over the right field wall to break the tie and put the Patriots on top 3-1 heading into the top of the fourth inning.

The Patriots tacked on a run in the fifth on an RBI single by Martinez-Esteve to make the score 4-1.

James Skelton stole home in the sixth to plate another run for Somerset to extend their lead to 5-1.

The Riversharks scored in the eighth on a solo homerun by Valentino Pascucci (2) to make the score 5-2.

Erik Arnesen (7-1) picked up the win, allowing two runs on seven hits in 7.2 innings pitched. Josh Walter (4-8) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on six hits in five innings pitched.  Jon Hunton came out to pitch a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his 20th save of the season.

The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Saturday when the Patriots play the Camden Riversharks in a Day-Night Double-Header. Game One will begin at 12:05 PM and all tickets are $5 General Admission seats.
