Barnstormers Hold Off Patriots 3-2

Bridgewater, NJ- The Lancaster Barnstormers defeated the Somerset Patriots 3-2 in front of 5,027 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday evening.721baisley

The Barnstormers broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the 10th inning on an RBI double by Blake Gailen for the 3-2 win.

Lancaster broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth after Daryle Ward scored on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead.

A solo homerun by Jerry Owens (1) the following inning increased the lead for the Barnstormers and made the score 2-0.

Somerset rallied to tie the score in the bottom of the ninth inning on RBI base hits by Cory Aldridge and Jeff Baisley.

Lancaster reliever Jason Urquidez (5-1) got the win after allowing two runs on three hits in an inning of work.  Patriots closer Jon Hunton (1-4) suffered the loss after allowing the go ahead run in the 10th.  Brodie Downs came on to pitch a scoreless 10th inning to pick up his first save of the season.
