722taylorBridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the York Revolution 9-5 at TD Bank Ballpark on Monday evening.

The Patriots jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a two-run double by Jake Fox and a ground rule RBI double by Jeff Baisley.

An RBI single by Jonny Tucker in the bottom of the second gave the Patriots a 4-0 lead.

Somerset added to their lead in the bottom of the third on an RBI double by Jorge Cortes and a sacrifice fly by James Skelton that made the score 6-0.

York got on the board with a run on an RBI single by Ruddy Yan in the top of the fifth inning.

The Revolution made it a one run game with four runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by a three-run home run by Matt Spencer (2).

The Patriots put the game out of reach in the seventh on a three-run blast by Cory Aldridge (6) for the 9-5 final.

Jason Lowey (4-3) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Corey Thurman (4-9) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits in 2.1 innings pitched.

The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Tuesday night when they take on the York Revolution in a Day-Night Double Header at 11:05 am and 7:05 pm.
