Fox With His Third Straight Walk Off

Bridgewater, NJ- Jake Fox hit a walk off home run (23), his third straight game with a walk off hit, to give the Somerset Patriots a 2-1 win over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in 11 innings in front of 5,636 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday evening. The win completed the three game sweep of the Blue Crabs.

The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Cory Aldridge reached on a base hit and scored on a sacrifice fly by James Skelton.

A wild pitch in the top of the seventh allowed Jose Salas to score and tie the game at 1-1.

Fox had walk off RBI singles in each of the last two games leading into Sunday night’s game.

Jon Hunton (2-5) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Jim Ed Warden (3-2) suffered the loss, allowing the game winning run in 0.1 innings pitched.
