The Skeeters jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Ryan Langerhans drove in two runs with a single and Reid Gorecki followed with an RBI double.
The Patriots answered with two runs in the bottom of the second inning on a home run by Jorge Cortes (3).
Sugar Land extended their lead with a run in the third on a solo home run by Travis Scott (9) for a 4-2 advantage.
The Patriots tied it up with two runs in the sixth on an RBI triple by Cortes and a sacrifice fly by James Skelton.
The Patriots took the lead in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Corey Smith that made the score 5-4.
Cedrick Bowers (2-0) got the win for Somerset after coming into the game to retire a batter. Roy Corcoran (6-3) suffered the loss for the Skeeters after surrendering the go ahead run in the seventh inning. Jon Hunton came on to pitch the ninth inning to pick up his 29th save of the season.
