Starting Pitching Matchup
Lefty Roy Merritt (1-0, 1.23 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while righty hurler Shaun Garceau (0-0, 6.75 ERA) will take the hill for the Flock. Roy Merritt is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in six appearances against Long Island this year. Shaun Garceau threw a complete game two hit shutout in his only start against the Pats in the regular season.
The Patriots have made the playoffs for the first time since 2010. The Ducks are looking to join the Patriots and Revolution as the only teams to win back-to-back titles in Atlantic League history.
The Somerset Patriots and Long Island Ducks have been fierce rivals since 2000. The Patriots lead the all-time series 134-132. The Patriots went 12-8 against the Ducks in the regular season.
