Lancaster, PA – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (5-1) travel to the Keystone State to battle the Lancaster Barnstormers (4-2) from Clipper Magazine Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. This is the first game of a four game wrap around weekend series. This is Somerset’s first road game of the season.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Lefty Matt Maloney (1-0, 3.17 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while righty hurler Chad Beck (0-1, 7.71 ERA) will take the hill for the Stormers.

Hit The Road Jack

Tonight begins the first day of a 10 day nonstop road trip. Four games in Lancaster followed by six games in Sugar Land.

Somerset’s offense has only hit one homer and at the same time Somerset’s pitching staff has only surrendered one homer.

Emotional Return

James Skelton played with Somerset last year and tonight he faces his former team. With the Patriots Skelton played in 83 games, hit .268, smacked 4 HRs and drove in 28 RBI.

Bullpen Mafia

Somerset’s bullpen has started the season by tossing 21.1 frames and only allowed two earned runs. That’s good for a microscopic 0.85 ERA.
