Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (2-3, 48-26) host the Sugar Land Skeeters (3-3, 41-34) for the third game of a four game weekend series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from TD Bank Ballpark. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. These two squads have split the first two games of the set. This is the final series before the All-Star break.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty Jon Lucas (0-0, 8.44 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while southpaw Dan Meadows (0-2, 5.68 ERA) takes the hill for the Skeeters.

Cory Harrilchak has 13 RBI this season. Seven of those have come against Sugar Land.

Postseason Bound

The Somerset Patriots are the 2014 1st Half Liberty Division Champions! This is their 13th Half Title in franchise history as the Patriots are going to the playoffs for some serious September baseball! The Patriots have elected to take the back three games of the first round series at home so they will open up the postseason on the road. Tickets are on sale by calling 908-252-0700.

All-Stars

Pitcher Matt Zileinski, catcher Adam Donachie, and third baseman Corey Smith have been named to the 2014 Atlantic League All-Star Game. The contest will be played July 16th at Constellation Field. Pitching Coach Cory Domel will be part of the coaching staff.

Since August of 2013 Somerset is 16-6 against Sugar Land including a three game sweep in the first round of last year’s playoffs.
