Bridgeport, CT – Today the Somerset Patriots (6-4, 52-27) travel to the Nutmeg State to battle the Bridgeport Bluefish (5-5, 27-53) for  the series finale from Harbor Yard. First pitch is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. Somerset looks for the sweep like Bridgeport looks to salvage the set. Somerset is 13-1 against Bridgeport this season including having won 13 straight games against the Fish.

Lefty Matt Zielinski (7-3, 3.19 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow southpaw Hunter Jones (4-7, 4.08 ERA) takes the hill for the Fish.

The Somerset Patriots are the 2014 1st Half Liberty Division Champions! This is their 13th Half Title in franchise history as the Patriots are going to the playoffs for some serious September baseball! Emotional Return

Pitcher Matt Sommo returns to Bridgeport for the first time since being released from the organization a couple of weeks ago. Sommo spent the last year and a half with Bridgeport and was born in New Haven, CT. He was 2-0 with a 6.04 ERA in 18 games with the Fish this year before latching on with Somerset.

Fantastic Four

The Patriots are 46-5 when they score four runs or more but only 6-22 when they score three runs or fewer.
