In the top of the first inning third baseman Bryan Pounds socked a RBI sacrifice fly to give Camden an early 1-0 advantage.
The Patriots grabbed a 2-1 lead in the ensuing half inning as a run scored on an errant throw from Pounds while another run crossed home via a double play ball hit by right fielder Luis Montanez.
Somerset scored three more times in the bottom of the third inning to take a 5-1 lead. Designated hitter Daryle Ward cranked a two RBI double while Montanez hit a RBI sacrifice fly.

Right fielder Ryan Strieby blasted a home run (5) in the top of the seventh inning to cut the deficit to 9-2.
Dominguez ripped a RBI single, Smith crushed a homer (11) and first baseman Brian Barden hammered a three run home run (4) to make the score 14-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
