Patriots Rally Past Barnstormers 3-2

Lancaster, PA – The Somerset Patriots (22-13, 69-36) defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers (17-17, 56-48) 3-2 Thursday evening from Clipper Magazine Stadium. AUGUST14thGRAPHIC

In the bottom of the fourth inning right fielder Ben Francisco hit a two RBI double to give the Barnstormers a 2-0 advantage.

The Patriots scored three times in the top of the ninth inning to take a 3-2 lead. Third baseman Brian Barden sprayed a two RBI triple and he came around to score on a throwing error by second baseman Reggie Corona. Audio of game winning hit.

Lee Hyde (2-0) earned the win in relief. Jason Urquidez (3-1) blew the save and sustained the loss. Jon Hunton notched the save (37). Hunton tied a Somerset Patriots single season record for most saves in a year. Last year Hunton tallied 37 saves. Audio of final out.
