Ducks Defeat Patriots 7-1

Bridgewater, NJ – The Long Island Ducks (21-25, 61-54) defeated the Somerset Patriots (27-19, 74-42) 7-1 Tuesday evening from TD Bank Ballpark. AUGUST26thGRAPHIC

In the top of the first inning left fielder Adam Bailey ripped a RBI single to give the Ducks a 1-0 advantage.

Center fielder Cory Harrilchak smacked a leadoff home run (5) in the ensuing half inning to even the contest at 1-1.

The Ducks grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the second as third baseman Brendan Harris hammered a RBI double.

Harris roped a RBI single in the top of the fourth inning to increase the Flock lead to 3-1.

First baseman Joash Brodin crushed a two run home run (8) to up the score to 5-1 in favor of Long Island.

Brodin slugged his second homer (9) of the game as his blast in the top of the eighth inning made the score 6-1.

Second baseman Cody Puckett tallied a RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning as the score increased to 7-1.

Jared Lansford earned the win (7-4) hurling eight innings while allowing just one run. Matt Maloney suffered the loss (8-7) lasting six innings while allowing five runs.
