Patriots Sweep Riversharks With 4-1 Victory

Camden, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (36-28, 83-51) completed the three game sweep of the Camden Riversharks (23-41, 46-88) by winning 4-1 Sunday afternoon from Campbell’s Field. SEPT14thGRAPHIC

In the top of the fourth inning the Patriots plated a pair of runs to take a 2-0 advantage. Right fielder Ty Wright registered a RBI sacrifice fly and another run cross via a wild pitch hurled by Ryan Kulik.

Somerset added a run in the top of the fifth inning to expand its lead to 3-0 as left fielder Aharon Eggleston hit a RBI groundout.

Eggleston tallied a RBI sacrifice fly in the road half of the seventh inning to up the score to 4-0 in favor of Somerset.

Left fielder Brian Van Kirk hit into a double play in the ensuing half inning that led to a Camden run as the score became 4-1.

Matt Zielinski (10-7) earned the win tossing six scoreless innings. Kulik (2-7) endured the loss allowing four runs in seven innings of work. Jason Lowey earned the save (1) pitching a scoreless ninth inning.
