Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (9-6) rallied to defeat the Bridgeport Bluefish (8-7) 2-1 Sunday afternoon at TD Bank Ballpark. The Patriots won the rubber match as shortstop Robert Andino spanked a walk-off RBI single to propel the Patriots to victory on Mother’s Day. maaay10FINAL

Bridgeport scored its lone run in the top of the ninth inning when right fielder James Skelton committed a fielding error allowing shortstop Ildemaro Vargas to score from first base making the contest 1-0.

Somerset plated a pair of runs in the home half of the ninth inning as third baseman Greg Hopkins laced a game tying RBI double then Andino recorded the game winning hit.

It was Somerset’s third walk-off win through its first 15 games and fifth win in its final at bat this season.

Kyler Newby (3-0) earned the win in relief. Tim Gustafson (0-1) suffered the loss and blew the save.
