FIRST PLACE BEST PLACE: Somerset has held at least a share of first place for every day so far this season. The Patriots were in held at least a share of first place for 72 straight-days in the first half last year, with only three days tied.
inVINCEable: Since allowing a run in each of his first three appearances, RHP Vince Molesy has yielded just one run over 12.1 innings pitched in his last five games (0.79 ERA) with three walks and 12 strikeouts. He carries a 1.66 ERA on the year.
NUMBAH ONE: Mike Fransoso has hit safely in five-straight games and eight of his last nine. Over this stretch he is hitting .345 (10-for-29) with five runs and five RBI. He currently ranks second in the league in OBP (.452) and fifth in AVG (.361)
MIAMI VICE: 3B Alex Castellanos went 2-for-4 Wednesday against Lancaster with a home run and four RBI. The Miami, FL native has now homered twice over his last three games, leads the team in HR (4) and ranks second in RBI (15).
JUST A HU(N)CH: LHP Chase Huchingson has made eight-straight scoreless appearances. In this stretch, the 2017 All-Star has allowed just three hits with 10 strikeouts and has lowered his ERA from 13.50 to 4.09.
BORBON STREET: Outfielder Julio Borbon has three doubles in his last five games. He leads the league in doubles (12), is tied for second in extra-base hits (16), and ranks ninth in slugging (.526).
K IS FOR KUBIAK: RHP David Kubiak tossed five scoreless innings with six strikeouts in his 2018 debut on 5/25. He had 117 strikeouts in 112.2 IP last year.
ANTONINI SHINES: Second-year Patriots southpaw Mike Antonini has not allowed an earned run over his first 14.1 innings on just three hits with 18 K.
RIORDOMINANT: RHP Cory Riordan needed just 81 pitches to throw eight one-run innings in a 2-1 win over the Ducks on 5/25. He faced two-over the minimum and struck out four batters. He is now 2-1 on the year with a 3.23 ERA, good for 13th in the league. His 30.2 IP is also 6th in the Atlantic League, while his 1.47 BB/9 is 7th amongst all qualified pitchers.
SPEED DEMONS: The Patriots have stolen three bases and now rank third in the Atlantic League as a team in steals. Additionally, Justin Trapp ranks third in the league in stolen bases (11).
