inVINCEable: Since allowing a run in each of his first three appearances, RHP Vince Molesy has yielded just one run over 18.1 innings pitched in six games (0.49 ERA) with four walks and 21 strikeouts. He tossed six shutout, one-hit innings with a season-high nine strikeouts in his first start on 6/3. Molesky now carries an Atlantic League-best 1.30 ERA on the year.
AROD BACK: SS Alfredo Rodriguez has a hit in four-straight games and owns a five-game on-base streak. Over his last four, he is 6-for-15 (.400) with five RBI.
NUMBAH ONE: Mike Fransoso has hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games. Since May 18, he is hitting .366 (15-for-41) with three SB, six RBI, eight R and 10 BB. He currently leads the league in OBP (.480) and ranks second in AVG (.369)
SASSY MASSEY: IF Craig Massey has reached base safely in seven of his last eight starts, having raised his OBP from .286 to .455 in the process. He is 10-for-25 (.400) from the plate with three steals, seven RBI, seven runs and eight walks over this stretch. Additionally, Massey has reached base in 17 of his last 32 plate appearances over these eight games.
MIAMI VICE: 3B Alex Castellanos, the Miami native, is hitting .381 (8-for-21) over his last six games with two home runs, five runs scored and eight RBI. He leads the team in HR (4) and RBI (17).
BORBON STREET: OF Julio Borbon is 11-for-37 (.297) with seven SB, five RBI and eight runs over his last nine games. He’s hit safely in 14 of his last 17 games, leads the league in 2B (12), is third in XBH (16), and ranks 10th in SLG (.486).
SPEED DEMONS: The Patriots had a knack for swiping bags in their last series vs. the Road Warriors, as they stole 10 bases in the three games. They rank second in the Atlantic League as a team in steals (47). Additionally, Justin Trapp ranks third in the league in stolen bases (13).
GOOD GOLLY MOLLY: Dustin Molleken has now gone five consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run, lowering his ERA from 4.77 to 2.61. During that stretch, he has thrown 5.1 IP, with six strikeouts to just two walks.
RIORDOMINANT: RHP Cory Riordan continued his dominance with the first CG of the year for the Patriots back on Thursday. His 37.2 IP ranks fourth in the Atlantic League while his 1.19 BB/9 ranks fourth amongst all qualified pitchers.
