With a new era of Somerset Patriots baseball comes a new look. After months of anticipation and speculation, the club unveiled the uniforms they plan on using during their first season as the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.
The reveal was done via the team’s Facebook account, and incorporated local frontline workers via the team’s partnership with RWJ Barnabas Health.
The home jersey, now with pinstripes, looks the most similar to what the team had worn during their Atlantic League days, while the road and alternate jerseys are certainly more Yankees-themed with the classic block lettering font used on the parent club’s road jerseys also found on these.
“As soon as we announced the partnership with the Yankees, everyone immediately started asking about pinstripes on our uniforms,” said Somerset Patriots Senior Director of Merchandise Robert Crossman in a team release.
“We are excited to be able to unveil our new look that marries these two great teams together. I think our fans will really enjoy the design, and hopefully it helps inspire the prospects coming through Somerset of their bright futures ahead.”
