May 7th Game Notes; Skeeters @ Patriots

Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight at 7:05pm from TD Bank Ballpark, the Somerset Patriots (5-5) host the Sugar Land Skeeters (4-6) in the first game of this four game midweek series featuring these Freedom Division foes. The Patriots look to start a new winning streak after snapping their four game winning streak yesterday. The Skeeters are an expansion franchise in the Atlantic League.

Tonight's starting pitcher Mike MacDonald makes his third start of the season

Skeeters’ designated hitter Josh Pressley returns to TD Bank Ballpark after spending five years with the Patriots from 2007-11. Pressley was an integral part of the squad and a key contributor in the middle of the batting order. As a Patriot he played in 555 games, compiled a .308 batting average, slugged 96 home runs, and drove in 379 RBI in his five years.

Today’s starting pitchers will feature Mike MacDonald for the Patriots against Ryan McKeller for the Skeeters. This is the third time through the starting rotation for the Patriots so the pitch count should rise to 100.

Mike MacDonald: 15th round by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2004

Ryan McKeller: 45th round by the Houston Astros in 2002
