Paul Phillips was the stopper last night. The Patriots hope they can carry the momentum they gained from last night's win on their road trip to Sugar Land

Rough Travel

The Skeeters had an off day yesterday while the Patriots played a 7:05pm game then took a 3:15am bus to the airport to catch a 6:00am flight to the lone star state. The travel has not been kind to the Patriots as of late. Last week they played five games in a 48 hour span.

Bullpen Stronger

Since the calendar turned to June, the Somerset Patriots bullpen has tossed 24.0 innings and allowed just four runs. Players have found their niche in the ‘pen.

Power Surge

This weekend’s series will feature the two top power hitters in the Atlantic League. Outfielder Jason Botts for the Skeeters and first baseman Jesse Hoorelbeke for the Patriots are tied for the league lead in home runs with nine round trippers each.

Familiar Faces

The Skeeters roster features five former Patriots who played for Somerset last year. They are Josh Pressley, Iggy Suarez, Matt Hagen, Ryan Houston and Derrick Gordon.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Tonight southpaw Doug Arguello toes the rubber for the Patriots as he’ll battle righty hurler Ryan McKeller for the Skeeters.

2012 Season Statistics

Doug Arguello: 2-1, 3.72 ERA, 8 appearances and 7 starts, 36.1 innings, 27 Ks, 16 BBs

Ryan McKeller: 1-4, 6.34 ERA, 7 starts, 32.2 innings, 17 Ks, 19 BBs
