August 21st Game Notes; Patriots @ Riversharks

Camden, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (19-20, 54-55) visit the Camden Riversharks (14-22, 48-57) at 7:05 p.m. from Campbell’s Field in the second game of this four game midweek series. Last night the Patriots won the series opener edging the Riversharks 3-2. Below are highlights of last night’s run scoring plays courtesy of WCTC.

Sanchez Sizzling

Shortstop Yunesky Sanchez hit just .212 in the first half of the season but in the second half he has turned his season around. Since the All-Star break he’s hitting .325 with three home runs and 16 RBI. He had 11 RBI the entire first half. He’s currently on a season-high seven game hitting streak.

Dobies Does It

Since former closer Josh Rupe retired on July 15th, Andrew Dobies is 9-for-9 in save opportunities.


The Patriots are 10-3 when Freddie Bynum bats leadoff. The All-Star ignites the team and provides a spark.

Righty Derell McCall toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Mike McGuire is on the hill for the Riversharks.
