Joe Holden is in the midst of an eight game hitting streak

Bridgeport, CT – Today the Somerset Patriots (23-28, 58-63) visit the Bridgeport Bluefish (23-24, 54-63) in the final game of this three game weekend series from Harbor Yard. The Patriots won the opener 9-3 but the Bluefish responded by winning last night 8-3. The Patriots are 9-7 against the Bluefish in 2012.

Shortstop Yunesky Sanchez hit just .212 in the first half of the season but in the second half he has turned his season around. Since the All-Star break he’s hitting .329 with three home runs and 21 RBI. He had 11 RBI the entire first half. He has hit safely in 16 of his last 17 games.
