Central Islip, NY – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (25-28, 60-63) visit the Long Island Ducks (15-35, 54-65) in the second game of this three game midweek series from Bethpage Ballpark. The Patriots won the series opener in come from behind fashion last night as they erased a 3-0 deficit to win 4-3. Somerset notched its 24th come from behind victory of the year. Ducks Spiraling Downwards

In their last 56 games the Long Island Ducks are just 15-41. The Ducks have lost six straight games overall.

Sanchez Sizzling

Shortstop Yunesky Sanchez hit just .212 in the first half of the season but in the second half he has turned his season around. Since the All-Star break he’s hitting .335 with three home runs and 23 RBI. He had 11 RBI the entire first half. He has hit safely in 18 of his last 19 games.

Holden Heating Up

Center fielder Joe Holden is in the midst of a season-high 10 game hitting streak.

Lefty Roy Merritt toes the rubber for Somerset while righty hurler Bobby Blevins is on the hill for the Ducks.
