Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (26-29, 61-64) host the Lancaster Barnstormers (80-44, 35-19) in the first game of this three game weekend series featuring these Freedom Division foes at TD Bank Ballpark. The Patriots have lost 14 of the 17 meetings with the Barnstormers in 2012.

Johnny Drennen has been absolutely clutch this season

Wild Card Hunt

The Patriots are currently 6.0 games behind the Revolution in the Wild Card standings. 11 of the Patriots final 15 games are at home which does bode well for Somerset. The Patriots do face the Revs four more times at Sovereign Bank Stadium.

Sanchez Sizzling

Shortstop Yunesky Sanchez hit just .212 in the first half of the season but in the second half he has turned his season around. Since the All-Star break he’s hitting .333 with three home runs and 23 RBI. He had 11 RBI the entire first half. He has hit safely in 20 of his last 21 games. Sanchez currently has a season high 11 game hitting streak.

Holden Heating Up

Center fielder Joe Holden is in the midst of a season-high 11 game hitting streak.

Drennen Drama

Johnny Drennen has seven home runs of the season. Five of them have come in the seventh inning or later that have either tied or given Somerset the lead.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Lefty Doug Arguello toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow southpaw John Halama is on the hill for the Barnstormers.
