Starting Pitching Matchup
Lefty Graham Taylor toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow southpaw Jeremy Sowers will take the hill for the Blue Crabs.
Graham Taylor is one of six former Major League Baseball players on the Patriots roster. He has been part of the Miami Marlins organization his entire career until this season. He made his debut with the Marlins in 2009 but only lasted three outings registering an ERA above 8.00. He enjoys golf in his free time.
Jeremy Sowers also has Major League Baseball experience as he pitched for the Cleveland Indians. His career MLB record is 12-12 with a 5.14 ERA. The crafty lefty was the sixth overall pick in the 2006 MLB draft out of the prestigious Vanderbilt University.
Patriots’ shortstop Yunesky Sanchez hit over .300 in the second half of last season and carried that momentum into the offseason as he continued his hot hitting at the plate for Team Spain in the World Baseball Classic. In the WBC Sanchez was 7-for-11 (.636) and showed great range defensively. This season he has two home runs in the first two games. Last year he had seven homers the entire season.
