Skeeters Take Second Game 3-1 Over Patriots

erik arnesen throwingBridgewater, NJ- The Sugar Land Skeeters defeated the Somerset Patriots 3-1         at TD Bank Ballpark on Wednesday afternoon.

The Patriots took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a solo home run by Jake Fox (2).

Sugar Land evened up the score at one in the top of the fifth on an RBI double by Travis Scott.

An RBI single by Anthony Granato in the top of the eighth inning gave the Skeeters a 2-1 advantage.

Sugar Land added an insurance run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Scott and Chase Lambin scored later in the inning for the 3-1 lead.

Sugar Land reliever Jared Wells (0-1) got the win after tossing two scoreless innings and striking out two.  Erik Arnesen (1-1) got the loss, allowing two runs on five hits in eight innings pitched.  Jason Bergmann came on to pitch the ninth to pick up his second save of the season.
