Waldorf, MD – Today at 2:05 p.m. the Somerset Patriots (6-3) visit the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (3-7) in the final game of a three game weekend series from Regency Furniture Stadium. Download today’s comprehensive game notes. The Patriots look to sweep this three game set was they won 8-5 and 7-4 on Friday and Saturday respectively. Somerset is 19-7 against Southern Maryland since the start of the 2012 season.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty Josh Lowey (0-1, 9.81 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Gaby Hernandez (0-2, 9.31 ERA) will take the hill for the Blue Crabs.

Sanchez Sizzling

Yunesky Sanchez leads the league in homers (5) and RBI (15). He’s also hitting .351. He has hit safely in eight of the nine games this year.

Power Surge

Somerset has homered in eight of their first nine games which is impressive considering they were last in the Atlantic League in home runs hit in 2012. This year they have hit the most homers of any of the eight squads.

Fantastic Fox

Jake Fox is hitting .378 (third best in Atlantic League) and has a team high eight game hitting streak. He has homered in the three of the last four games.

Straw That Stirs Drink

Jonny Tucker is the catalyst to the lineup. He has 10 RBI through nine games and is hitting .308. He’s tied for second in the league in RBI while only his teammate Sanchez has more. He works the count well and sets the table for his teammates that follow him in the order.
