All-Time Series Stat: The Patriots and Ducks have been playing each other since the 2000 season. They have faced each other 247 times and the Ducks lead the all-time series 124 to 123. This New York vs. New Jersey rivalry is dead even essentially.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Lefty Graham Taylor (0-0, 4.09 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow southpaw Dontrelle Willis (0-0, 3.37 ERA) will take the hill for the Ducks.

Both are former big league pitchers who ironically have both pitched for the Marlins. Taylor had a brief stint with the Marlins in 2009. Willis was the 2003 National League Rookie of the Year as he went 14-6 with a 3.30 ERA leading the Marlins to their second World Series title in franchise history that same season. In 2005 Willis was second in the Cy Young Award voting as he was 22-10 with a 2.63 ERA. He has a career MLB record of 72-69 with a 4.17 ERA in 202 career starts.

Careful With Corey

In this series against the Ducks, Corey Smith is 6-for-7 and has reached base in eight of his nine plate appearances.

Showcasing Speed

Somerset leads the Atlantic League in stolen bases with 20. First year skipper Brett Jodie has been very aggressive thus far on the young season.

Straw That Stirs Drink

Jonny Tucker is the catalyst to the lineup. He has 11 RBI through 12 games. He’s tied for fifth in the league in RBI. He works the count well and sets the table for his teammates that follow him in the order.
