Bridgewater, NJ – Tonight at 7:05 p.m. the Somerset Patriots (9-4) host the Bridgeport Bluefish (8-5) in the first game of a three game weekend series from TD Bank Ballpark. The Patriots powered past the Ducks last night winning the rubber game 6-2. The Patriots slugged a season high three home runs. The following are the home run calls from the game courtesy of WCTC…

Starting Pitching Matchup

Righty Mitch Atkins (2-0, 3.60 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while fellow righty hurler Michael Colla (1-0, 7.71 ERA) will take the hill for the Bluefish.

Careful With Corey

In his last three games, Corey Smith is 6-for-8 and has reached base in eight of his ten plate appearances.

Jake Can Rake

Jake Fox has hit safely in 11 of the first 13 games thus far and he leads the Atlantic League in home runs with six. He has hit safely in 29 of the 34 games he has played in his Atlantic League career that stems back to last year.

Showcasing Speed

Somerset leads the Atlantic League in stolen bases with 23. That’s six more than the next closest opponent. First year skipper Brett Jodie has been very aggressive thus far on the young season.

Straw That Stirs Drink

Jonny Tucker is the catalyst to the lineup. He has 11 RBI through 13 games. He’s tied for fourth in the league in RBI. He works the count well and sets the table for his teammates that follow him in the order.
