winadateBridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots will host a special “Win A Date With A Patriot” fundraiser at the Thursday, September 12th game between the Patriots and the Bridgeport Bluefish at TD Bank Ballpark at 7:05 pm.

The “Win A Date With A Patriot” fundraiser is set up to help raise money for a friend of Somerset infielder Dan Hennigan who is battling leukemia. The idea for this first-time event was brought to the team by Hennigan in an effort to bring the community together to support his friend Kyle Noonan’s battle with leukemia.

Patriots fans in attendance will be able to bid in a silent auction to win a dinner date with the participating Patriots. The dinner will take place at the New Westbrook Tavern on Talmage Avenue in Bound Brook on Sunday, September 15th at 7:00 pm. All the players and their dates will be able to enjoy a buffet style dinner with one another.

Participating Patriots are currently Hennigan, Jonny Tucker, David Harden, Bobby Stevens, Cory Aldridge, Adam Donachie, Derrell McCall, Angel Sanchez, and Jorge Cortes. A featured Patriot is third base/hitting coach Shane Spencer, a three-time World Series Champion with the New York Yankees from 1998-2000. Patriots Radio Broadcaster Justin Antweil is also one of the participants for the bids. All bids will start at $50.00 with $10.00 increments from bidders.

Noonan is easily one of the most likeable, generous, outgoing and bravest people his friends and family know. A Philadelphia University graduate, golf and skiing enthusiast and former baseball player, Kyle was only four days into his first post-graduation job in 2009 when a routine blood test revealed that he had acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). After spending months in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City undergoing treatment and eventually a bone marrow transplant, he has been in remission for over two years.

Unfortunately, on June 26, 2013 Kyle was diagnosed with a relapse of ALL and has been back at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center ever since. His family and friends want Kyle to put all the energy he has into focusing on his recovery and getting healthy again, rather than worrying about medical bills now and in the future. Therefore, friends and family have put together a fund in Kyle’s name to raise as much money as possible to help support him and the Noonan family in his fight against this rare cancer. With all of our love, positivity and support, Kyle can beat leukemia for the second time and continue to put smiles on everyone’s faces for a very long time.

Tickets are $10 with $5.00 of every ticket sold for the fundraiser to benefit Kyle Noonan. Tickets can be purchased at the ballpark, by calling (908) 252-0700, or on-line at To participate in the ticket fundraiser, select the tickets marked Kyle Noonan Fundraiser. (There is a convenience fee for on-line orders)

Ticket sales through this fundraising event will go directly to Kyle’s cause.  There will also be a 50/50 raffle on site.
