Central Islip, NY – Tonight the Somerset Patriots (3-1, 90-49) visit the Long Island Ducks (4-0, 63-77) for the second game of the best of five 2013 Atlantic League Championship Series featuring this New Jersey and New York rivalry. The Ducks lead the best of five series 1-0 as the Flock won the series opener 4-3 last night.

Starting Pitching Matchup

Lefty Roy Merritt (1-0, 1.23 ERA) toes the rubber for Somerset while righty hurler Shaun Garceau (0-0, 6.75 ERA) will take the hill for the Flock. Roy Merritt is 0-0 with a 3.86 ERA in six appearances against Long Island this year. Shaun Garceau threw a complete game two hit shutout in his only start against the Pats in the regular season.

Postseason Party

The Patriots have made the playoffs for the first time since 2010. The Ducks are looking to join the Patriots and Revolution as the only teams to win back-to-back titles in Atlantic League history.
