Patriots Come Back For 11-7 Win

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots fought back from a late six run deficit to win 11-7 over the Lancaster Barnstormers at TD Bank Ballpark on Thursday night. JUNE12thGRAPHIC

The Patriots rallied from a 7-1 deficit with eight runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. A three-run home run by Eddy Martinez-Esteve (1) started the comeback. Jonny Tucker and Aharon Eggleston each drove in a run with singles. A two-run single by Corey Smith put the Patriots on top. Mike Wilson and Adam Donachie added RBI singles that gave the Patriots a 10-7 lead.

Luis Montanez added an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning for the 11-7 final.

The Barnstormers struck first on a lead off home run by Yusuke Kajimoto (3) to start the game.

Lancaster added a run on an RBI groundout by Wilson Batista in the top of the fourth for a 2-0 lead.

A two-run single in the top of the fifth by Andrew Clark gave the Barnstormers a 4-0 advantage.

Ty Wright got Somerset on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning with a solo home run (6) that made it a 4-1 game.

Lancaster broke the game open with three more runs in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI double by Amos Ramon, a sacrifice fly by Kajimoto, and an error that made the score 7-1.

J.D. Reichenbach (1-0) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Pete Andrelczyk (0-5) suffered the loss, allowing four runs-three earned-on four hits in 0.1 innings pitched.
